Guitar Tip #1 – Lack of discipline

After infinite hours of practice (up to 10 hours per day for the last two decades) I’ve recognized a similarity between the various fears guitar players may encounter. My conclusion is, that there are 4 types of “Guitar Fears” affecting people who are practicing on a daily base:

  1. The fear of failure.
  2. The fear of being old and not having enough time left in order to develop “sick” guitar skills.
  3. The fear of being criticized by others.
  4. The fear of performing a live show in front of others.

All these fears share a common root: Lack of discipline when it comes to setting, pursuing and achieving goals. My advice for you: Set goals within your reach and focus exclusively on them, stop comparing yourself with others and stay inspired and motivated. Let frustration be fuel to your motivation. Never Stop!
